Trenchless Sewer Repair In Birmingham Alabama

Trenchless Sewer RepairIt certainly goes without saying that problems with the sewer system are typically amongst the most expensive and down right disgusting situations that most property owners ever have to deal with. If your home or investment property happens to be over forty years old than chances are you will be facing that exact issue in the very near future. This is due to the fact that back in the good old days the sewer pipe manufacturers used inferior materials that tend to break down quickly. That means that the pipes that carry the raw sewage and wastewater out of your home are practically ticking time bombs.

When small breaks, cracks, and rotted out spots begin to appear in the sewer pipeline it presents a big problem. Dirt, debris, and tree roots now have an opportunity to work their way into the pipe. This causes clogs in the system that negatively affects the flow of the raw sewage and wastewater. As we go about our daily business the sewage system begins to break down without our knowledge. Of course we are counting on the system to work properly even if we do not give much thought to it. When the system actually breaks down to the point of needing repair it causes a major disruption to our way of living.

When the raw sewage and wastewater cannot reach the intended destination, meaning the main sewer line or septic tanks it tends to cause back ups within the system. It can leak directly into the ground, which is a great threat to the drinking water, and or back up into the drains, faucets, and toilets that are located in your property. Of course exposure to raw sewage posses a health threat, especially if small children reside within the home. At this point you must contact a reliable plumbing contractor in order to get the problem fixed as soon as possible. Before you pick up the phone or send a text or email it is important to know about the solutions that are available.

Traditional Sewer Repair

Plumbing contractors have performed traditional sewer repair for many years now. Although it does get the job done, this old method has become outdated due to the fact that it is a costly, time consuming, and extremely invasive procedure. For example, a humongous trench must be dug alongside the entire length of the sewer line in order to expose the pipe. Of course digging out the obtrusive trench means that your landscaping will be ruined. The property owner, not the plumbing contractor is responsible for putting the yard back together. So once the headache of the sewer pipe breakdown is resolved another one begins. The good news is there is a modern way of fixing the sewer without ripping up the yard.

Trenchless Sewer Repair

Trenchless sewer repair in Birmingham, Alabama is far superior to the old way of doing things. This high tech method is a lot faster, far more cost effective, and does not ruin your yard or grounds. In fact the plumbing contractor can complete the job within a day or two as opposed to weeks on end. There are actually two distinct trenchless sewer repair methods available on the market today. If the pipes happen to be in decent condition than the pipe lining method may be used. It involves a small access hole to be dug at one end of the sewer line. A machine is then used to either pull or blow a tube coated with resin through the existing pipe.

The wet resin actually lines the interior of the damaged sewer line. When it hardens, within a few hours a brand new pipe is formed inside the old one. If the sewer line is severely damaged than the pipe bursting method is used. It requires two small access holes, one at each end of the sewer line. A continuous pipe made out of a plastic PVC material is pulled through the old pipe. As the new pipe is being pulled it bursts the old one into a bunch of fragmented pieces. These pieces fall harmlessly into the ground to rot. When the process is complete a brand new pipe takes the place of the old one. On average both the pipe lining method and pipe bursting method will last for approximately fifty years.
